Portfolio: Brand Identity

Background

One of Brinker International’s prime restaurant units, Romano’s Macaroni Grill offers a different experience than many other restaurants with a full bar, artists singing operettas, and excellent food prepared in complete view of the patrons.

Challenge

The primary identity, however, needed balancing and a level of design refinements. Other branding components, including signage, menu covers, and in-restaurant promotions were also needed to bring the brand more into alignment with the quality of their food and the ambiance of their restaurant architecture.

Solution

The initial work centered on refining their primary identity with recommendations for testing and better signage display. Menu covers, using a water color style of painting, helped bring a rural Tuscany feel to the menus. Exotic items for placement on the tables, such as a wood covered ”Chef’s Journal” added to the authenticity of the dishes and the sense of dining at a more sophisticated establishment.
